House Bill

HB 1377

Straight ticket voting.

In plain English

Allows straight party votes to count in races where more than one person can be elected, and removes a rule on where those candidates appear on the ballot. If a voter picks a party and also chooses individual candidates in such a race, the individual votes count (unless there are too many) and the party vote does not count for that race. The bill also explains how straight ticket votes are counted on paper ballots and makes other changes.
